‘One night Joseph had a dream, and when he told his brothers about it, they hated him more than ever.’ (Gen 37:5)

One night changed the rest of Joseph’s life. He had a dream which would shape his future destiny, and take him from being a shepherd to second in command of the world’s biggest superpower of that time. As we look back through history, it is marked by those who saw things that others didn’t and as a result brought about change; people such as Martin Luther King who gave the famous, ‘I have a dream’ speech in 1963.

King saw something, and believed for a day yet to come, dedicating his life accordingly.

Joseph’s dream took him on a long, incredible, often painful journey where he faced hatred, rejection, betrayal, false accusation, prison and redemption, until finally the day came for the dream to be fulfilled.  I’m sure at times Joseph questioned what he saw and sensed the impossibility of the dream ever coming to pass, but throughout his story, we read a key phrase, ‘The Lord was with Joseph’.

May God be with you today as you work out your God given dreams.
