Time to reclaim my garage for the winter

Do you have a garage that’s used for storing everything EXCEPT your car?

I suspect I’m not alone in putting my hand up to that one.

Fed up with having to scrape the ice of my car last winter, I began a major clearout.

Numberous trips to the tip later and, if not quite sparkling, at least you could see the floor ... and there was also room to squeeze the car in.

However, over the summer numerous items have set up home in the garage ... from unsold boot sale items and a toy garage waiting to be returned to its rightful owner to a radiator I really must get round to fitting and a lighting set missed when our neighbours moved house.

Add to that the various tool and tins of paint that are scattered about and you’ll get some idea of the task that awaits me if I intend to reclaim it for my car.

I’ve put it off for the last few weeks when a quick blast of hot air was enough to clear the windscreen but the past few mornings have required some serious work.

It doesn’t help that I can’t find the scraper I bought last year after snapping the credit card I was using as a improvised tool – I think it may be in the garage somewhere ...
