'˜When I was in trouble, you helped me. Be kind to me now and hear my prayer' (Psalm 4:1)

There is an old saying that when life gives you lemons, make lemonade! Like all sayings, it is easier said than done. When life is hard, when things seem to be going against you, when it is difficult to see the way ahead, our natural tendency is to despair.

But at that point it is little sayings that can help to inspire us, so when things look down, look up! God is near, even closer to you than the air that you breathe.

He loves you! He created you and knows your every feeling, in joy and in despair, and he wants you to know life in all its fullness.

Have a word with God, tell him how you are feeling and ask for his help. Even though your difficulties may not disappear, you will find the strength to cope, you will find fresh hope, and you will start to glimpse light in the midst of the darkness. Then continue to journey through life with God, you will see him more and more at work in your life and in the life of the world.
