Text of the week: Pastor Ken Bleakley

'˜Whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life' (John 3:16)

By the time you read this you may already have voted in the Referendum. You will also have been aware for some time of the publicity surrounding the pros and cons of either staying in or leaving the European Union.

The Leave and Remain camps have been trying their best to help and influence our decision-making process. Often this involves making promises, but no matter how well-meaning and sincere both sides are, many are left wondering if these promises can actually be kept. We will have to wait and see.

The Bible contains many God-given promises which Christians believe will be kept. The most famous verse in scripture contains a wonderful promise: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life” ( John 3 v16 ).

So, do you choose to be ‘in’ or ‘out’? Inside God’s kingdom with the promise of everlasting life ... or outside and without the promise?

With your eternal security hanging on your answer, it makes the EU Referendum seem quite tame in comparison!
