Text of the week
A bee buzzing lazily against the window is distracting me as I write; it’s that time of
year. This is only my second day back at work after some annual leave and already I wish I was still on holiday!

Time to rest, to take life at a slower pace, to do the things we enjoy, which relax and restore us. It is time to connect – to connect with the world around us and the people around us without the distraction and busyness of work getting in the way, No wonder we enjoy them.
And holidays were part of the way that God wanted us to live. In the Creation
Narrative God worked for 6 days and on the 7 th day there is that first holy day and He
rested. Rest is part of the way that God wants things to be, He didn’t create us to be
human do-ings, rather He created us as human be-ings.
What might it mean… to just be, and not do?
