'Asa did what was good and right in the eyes of the Lord his God' (2 Chronicles 14:2)

My eldest daughter invited us to spend Christmas with them. There was a joint present for my 8-year old grandson and me. It was for building a locomotive from parts that were laser cut on two thin steel sheets.

The following day without looking at the instructions my grandson and I started removing the pieces with some difficulty. He soon got bored and left to do something more interesting, so I packed it up and brought it home.

Then I read the instructions which said the pieces were to be removed one at a time and used in a specific order. If all the pieces were jumbled together, the danger was a piece could be put in the wrong position.

Every person has a body, soul and spirit and the Bible is our instruction guide to the relationship we can have with God but many have not read it, just like me and the locomotive instructions.

Or they may have read it as children but don’t pay any attention to it now. Consequently, they never have a meaningful relationship with God like king Asa. Start reading Mark’s Gospel today.
