“We believe that Jesus died and rose again, and that it will be the same for those who have died in Jesus.” (Thessalonians 4:14)
Now that the clocks have gone back we enter into Winter Time.
The month of November is often a dull and dark month.
Very often I feel that this reflects our moods. November is a month of remembrance. During the next few weeks we remember in a special way all those who gave their lives in various wars and conflicts in the pursuit of peace and justice.
And we pray that all people of the world may one day come to live in peace and harmony.
For us in the Catholic Church November is the month of the Holy Souls.
It is a time when think and pray especially for our families and friends who have died.
We pray that they will be at peace in the presence of God for ever.
Although they are no longer physically with us they are always very much with us in our thoughts and memories. Maybe each day throughout November we could make a special effort to keep our loved ones who have died alive in our memories and in our hearts. May they rest in peace.
