‘‘For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16)

A recent news story reported: “Britons spent about £2.1bn on unwanted Christmas presents this year, with clothing and ornaments topping the list of unwelcome items.

“Adults will have typically received two unwanted festive gifts worth an average of £43.50, according to classifieds website Gumtree.”

These gifts which had been bought with someone in mind, now lie seemingly ignored, unwanted or diregarded.

As the festivities die down for another year, another gift, much more valuable than any other can often be given the same treatment - ignored, unwanted or disregarded.

Jesus was a gift given to all mankind. He came to bind up the broken hearted, to set free those bound in addiction, to break the chains of oppression, to die for the sins of the world and that we could become Spiritually alive.

Like all gifts, we need to accept Him. Christmas is a time when we can reflect on the true gift of God.

Have you accepted the gift or like the “gift set” is He ignored, unwanted or disregarded?
