Station skirmish is played out globally

It is a credit to the people of Falkirk that the vast majority of football supporters and attendees are well behaved and enjoy the event for what it is.

However, last Saturday Falkirk played Hibs at Westfield. While the game was without incident, a small number of supporters were involved in minor disorder at Grahamston Station.

Unfortunately, this has been played out on social and mainstream media – able to be viewed all over the world.

The actions of a few individuals led to many innocent passengers having their train journey disrupted.

As local officers and people know, these incidents are rare but we are committed to identifying each and every one of those involved.

We are working closely with our colleagues in the British Transport Police and when these individuals are identified we will assist where necessary in any arrests.

This will have been a frightening experience for passengers and bystanders caught up in this incident and I would like to reassure our community that we are assisting in the investigation.
