Safety is at heart of Christmas policing

I'd like to thank everyone who attended Falkirk fireworks night at Callender Park last Saturday.

The weather was favourable, if a little chilly, the atmosphere fantastic and the display by Falkirk Community Trust was excellent.

An event of this size took a lot of planning and all the partners – Community Trust personnel, ambulance, security, volunteers –commented on the positive interaction they had with everyone who came along which made for an enjoyable evening.

With Halloween and bonfire night now past it’s the countdown to another seasonal holiday.

Falkirk officers are busy formulating plans to increase patrols as more people go shopping, enjoy nights out and travel on the roads visiting friends and relatives.

Officers have linked in with the BID town centre management team, the retail park and pubs and restaurants in the town to ensure all events are supported and visitors and locals alike feel safe while enjoying themselves.

The Safebase will also be in operation during the busy Christmas period and night-time patrols will be supported by the street pastors, council taxi marshals and other council staff who work tirelessly to keep people safe.
