Police column: Launch of '˜We can Stop It' rape aware campaign

Police Scotland is committed to supporting victims of rape and other sexual offences regardless of when the attack happened. Support continues throughout the investigation by providing a service in a professional and compassionate manner whilst conducting a thorough enquiry.

Sexual crime has a long term devastating effect and we are committed to supporting those who have suffered. We recognise how difficult it can be to report sexual crime and have specially trained officers who are here to offer help and support.

The divisional rape investigations unit is based in Larbert and the team has experience of such crimes and direct links to support agencies.

We want to join colleagues and partners in sending a strong message that sex without consent is rape, and if the person is unable to give consent to sexual activity, for whatever reason, it is rape.
