Many of you took positive steps to secure your property and Falkirk’s Community Investigation Unit arrested and charged a couple for a large number of offences. Much of the property recovered remains unclaimed and our Facebook feeds highlights that.
Unfortunately over the last couple of weeks a number of Ford Transit vans have been stolen in the Falkirk and surrounding areas. On Sunday, June 12, a white Transit was stolen from an industrial estate in Grangemouth, then overnight on Sunday and Monday, June 19 and 20, another was taken from Bonnybridge and a tipper truck from Carronshore.
As before our advice is straightforward – take steps to make vehicles as unattractive to thieves as possible. Always make sure the van is locked and remove any valuables, if possible from the back, but always those on open display in the front cab. Fit an alarm and if one is already fitted please remember to activate it when the vehicle is left unattended, even for a short period of time. When it is parked leave it in a garage or a well-lit public space.
I would appeal if anyone has any information about these missing vehicles they call 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
