Police Call: 800 weapons are off Forth Valley streets

800 weapons were surrendered in Forth Valley Division with 290 handed in at Falkirk Police Office alone.

We will continue to receive air weapons from any members of the public who wish to surrender them until December 2016.

This will allow individuals and groups not wishing to retain air weapons without relevant certification to continue to surrender their weapons in a safe manner.

This weekend around 3500 people will be taking part in the County Grand Lodge of the East Annual Celebration.

The parade will leave from Callendar Park at 1.15pm and parade through the town before returning to the park.

There will inevitably be disruption but Police Scotland has been fully involved in multi-agency planning and has implemented plans to minimise disruption.

We would advise those travelling on Saturday to make sure they know which roads are closed and when. Full details are available on the Falkirk Council website.
