New Year is a time for reflection

Traditionally the start of a new year is a time for reflection, looking back over the previous year, wondering where has 12 months gone and then looking forward with renewed hope that our resolutions will last longer than a few days! The key word for policing in Falkirk in 2015 was change '“ change of Divisional Commander, a change in the Divisional deployment model and recently my move across from Stirling to Falkirk and taking over the Area Commander role. The division introduced a new deployment model, re-energising local policing, introducting Ward Officers who work within the community and are dedicated where possible to their ward areas at all times. Response policing has enjoyed an increase of staff, which improves the service to the public and keeps Falkirk streets safer.

2016 has brought a new Chief Constable to Police Scotland and a renewed enthusiasm as the Force enters its fourth year. The recent policing activity under Operation Core within the Falkirk area confirmed the benefits of the force, officers and staff were drafted in from across Police Scotland to assist in a number of initatives.

These resources have contributed to the efforts of local officers and staff to make Falkirk a safe place to live, work and play. Happy New Year from all at Falkirk Area Command.
