In My View: The straw has finally broken the camel’s back

You know how you come across people in life who really annoy you and go out of their way just to make your life more difficult – well I experience this on a daily basis.

You see, I have two very irritating colleagues – let’s call them Laurel and Hardy – who sit in a very close proximity to my good self and I’ve had to suffer their grating, childish behaviour.

I’ll give you a flavour of what they do to wind me up.

One of them, I won’t name names but he likes sport and we’ll call him Hardy, hid the office doorbell on my desk so every time someone pressed the buzzer it was my ears that took the brunt of the loud bell.

He’s not the sharpest tool in the box this one though. One time he set up an elaborate prank by tying string to my phone and attaching it to a box containing loose polystyrene packing that was meant to fall all over my desk when I answered a call.

Long story short, it didn’t. Another epic fail for the man who has the bumbling frame of Lurch from the Addams Family.

The other one, Laurel, again no names but he loves taking pictures, just tries to discredit everything I say or takes an opposing stance and drags past indiscretions up at every opportunity and comments on my food as if he’s some kind of Jay Raynor who found a hair in his couscous.

The straw that broke this camel’s back happened this week when I returned to my desk from lunch to find my desktop screen turned upside down. Oh how the children laughed.

I usually just rise above this idiotic behaviour but it’s time for some payback. I’m open to any suggestions for ingenuous office pranks to play on them so please forward any ideas on a postcard.
