Herald team will ensure my MoonWalk is a success

It’s funny how things creep up on you. One minute you’ve got all the time in the world to get yourself ready then, suddenly, the big day is almost there and you’re nowhere near ready.

I’m think of Christmas, children’s birthdays, holidays abroad ... and Saturday’s Walk the Walk.

Whe I first signed up, I had great plans to cover hundreds of miles every week and vowed there would be no last-minute rush to get sponsors.

Now I’m scaling down my training schedule with every day that passes while busy planning my last-minute scramble for sponsors.

I know I’ll get there (I almost always do) and I’ve got the added incentive of not wanting to let my team members down.

It’s really heartening to see all those who are joining The Falkirk Herald for this event ... and, of course, it’s all for a great cause.

Walk the Walk - who organise the MoonWalk – are putting up the cash to ensure the new Maggie’s Centre at Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert gets built.

It will be a fanastic resource for the area and I’m delighted to be able to do my little bit to say thanks to all those who have made it possible.
