Falkirk victory has been ignored

I’m sure I can’t be the only person disappointed with the BBC this week.

‘Sportscene’ – as well as the corporation’s website – usually feature highlights from some of the top games in the Championship alongside their usual Premiership coverage.

So, after Falkirk’s tremendous victory over a previously unbeaten Hearts side at the weekend, I tuned in expecting at least to see the goals. But what did we get? Nothing. Not one piece of Championship action.

Okay, Rangers’ trip to face Cowdenbeath was a relatively late call-off but surely the cameras weren’t heading to Central Park instead of the much anticipated clash between the league leaders and one of the teams challenging for a play-off position.

I know the Old Firm attract a huge audience – and the goings-on at Ibrox are big news at the moment – but surely that would have been a step too far.

Whatever the reason, we’ve now been starved of any sort of action from a game that will live long in the memories of those who were lucky enough to be there.
