Consider this: one punch is all it takes

While working at the weekend in the Falkirk area it was obvious that alcohol played a significant part in isolated incidents of violence.

The results from this year’s Your View Counts survey confirmed that violence and its impact was a local concern.

So we’re supporting the national campaign launched on August 21 – One Punch Is All It Takes.

Officers are raising awareness of the consequences that one punch can have on two lives – the victim and the attacker.

We’re encouraging people to think about the consequences of their actions and the affect alcohol can have on their behaviour.

The campaign will run for four weeks – you may notice posters in public locations and on ATM machines near off-licenses.

Officers are working closely with local partners including the NHS, Violence Reduction Unit and licensed premises in urging people to consider their behaviour.

Falkirk has a good night time economy and we want people to enjoy their nights out but to drink responsibly and consider the effect alcohol has on their judgement.
