A great deal of information has been produced and while the readiness level emains at Red – meaning all face to face activity remains suspended – this may change in the coming months.

It means that groups across Falkirk District are now having to look at where, when and how they meet and what risk assessments need to be carried out.

A Falkirk District Scout leader said: “It took a lot of reading but we have been helped by several webinars at which a lot has been explained.

“However, it is going to take some time before we can all meet up again, especially having section meetings, but I am hopeful it might be this year.

“What I think we are all grateful for is the fact that so many of our young members have stuck with us, week in, week out. They are a real credit.”

Also in preparation for the possible changes processing of disclosure checks will start on Monday July 6.

All outstanding application need to be checked and forwarded to headquarters as soon as possible.

TRAINING is an ongoing requirement for all leaders.

Falkirk District Assistant District Commissioners (Adult Training) Hamish Scott is encouraging as many people as possible to complete any outstanding modules.

In particular, he has flagged up the fact that it is essential Modules 1, 1e, 3, GDPR and ongoing safety and safeguarding training are completed.

He has contacted everyone within the district who requires training in these –are as all of which is available online.

The pressure is on because the regional commissioner plans to review all appointments that are not compliant on August 1.

If you are unsure if you have completed the training contact your group training advisor and remember you have less than three weeks to do the work.
