Christmas fun and further ahead...

Pantomime time and various sections from around the district have been hissing and booing the villains of the piece, thoroughly enjoying the festive fare put on by the various group '“ a break from the weekly programme and perhaps for the young at heart officers too. Also enjoying festive fare were the members of the Falkirk and District Stedfast Association who repaired to the Airth Castle Hotel to enjoy fellowship over a fine meal. The grand surroundings of the conservatory there added to the ambience. It's good to be spoiled sometimes.'¨Scott McKenzie from 2nd Larbert (Old Church) is working hard to achieve his Queen's Badge and as part of that endeavour has been illustrating his skills as an artist as one of his interests.'¨Skipper, Brian Allan, somewhat impressed with the pieces submitted for assessment, being the all important evidence for the badge procedure, decided the work was so good that he entered one of the paintings into the BB 2017 calendar competition.'¨It has just been announced that Scott's work will form part of a collage for the month of January, Well done Scott. Copies are available from the BB Supplies website shop at a cost of £5.'¨This item along with other new BB items are featured on the back of the current issue of the BB Gazette. Inside is news that various features and events are planned throughout 2017 to celebrate the foundation of the forerunners of the current Junior Section.'¨Previously they were the Junior Reserves of the BB and the Life Boys. '¨The Battalion TurnaBBouT Event on March 3 will also feature this celebration and all Juniors and Anchor Boys are urged to attend as the programme will suit them as well as Company and Senior Sections.

3rd Falkirk (Peoples’ Church) also feature in the issue, pictured atop the Munro Mayar during their autumn trip to Scott Lodge in Glen Clova.
