Changes thrown into our life help shape us along the way

I am a great believer that change every so often is a good thing. As human beings, we need change to survive and remain happy.

Picture this: if we were to continue through life doing the same job, wearing the same clothes, speaking to the same people in the same surroundings, how happy would we truly be?

I know if it were me, I’d be the opposite and that is why I believe change is good.

I mean, I’m studying to be a journalist – every day, I’ll experience new people, new stories and new situations.

My change addiction will no doubt be fed and I know myself that I’ll remain happy in life doing something different every day.

This month two of my closest family members experienced one of the biggest changes of their lives which, in turn, has had a massive impact on the rest of us.

Being unable to go back to a place where so much of the Wallace family grew up is daunting, but I can’t help but think of the positives surrounding this big move.

I always thought my family were extremely lucky to have grown up in one of the most beautiful places in Central Scotland, let alone Falkirk.

This place hasn’t gone away, it hasn’t disappeared. As a family, we’re just going to be in there a lot less often.

And, luckily for us, the new surrounding which everyone is getting used to is just as beautiful, perhaps more so.

I’m not saying that stability is a bad thing. Realistically, we all need stability in our lives to help us grow.

But I think it’s the changes that are thrown at us in life that shape us into the people we become and eventually show our true colours.

The Wallace’s are experiencing a huge change which will take a lot of getting used to but I believe the outcome will be positive.

Change is good and it’s something we shouldn’t try to stop.
