Be Prepared: New challeges for Beavers

The Beavers from the 93rd Braes had fun trying some new games.

The aim was to pull the other person to their feet – not such an easy job when one of you is 4ft 8in and the other more than a foot taller.

This was just one of the activities played in the ‘highland games’ in the Outer Hebridies.

And not to be left in the shade the 93rd’s Scouts had a very productive evening with a spot of DIY.

After wiring plugs, hammering nails and learning to use a drill, nuts and bolts as well as fitting light bulbs they finished off with a series of fitness circuits.

TRESPASS the outdoor clothing shop has come up with a great offer for local members of the Scout Association.

A REMINDER to everyone in Scout troops that on the first weekend in April (1 and 2) there will be patrol and assistant patrol leader training.

The two-day session will take place at Barrwood and will be an opportunity to learn patrol leader skills. It is aimed at Scouts who will possibly be our next patrol leaders.

There are limited spaces so booking needs to be done as soon as possible.

AND, finally, with the creation of the new Youth Advocacy Award for MSPs it might be time to encourage your local representative to get involved with your group.

Anything which raises the profile of the movement and your group is no bad thing.
