The busy A9 near Icehouse Brae in Laurieston was shut off on Hogmanay after an HGV lorry overturned.

Police say the incident happened at around 8.40am at the roundabout at Icehouse Brae on the A9 Northern Distributor Road, which leads south to Laurieston and north to a distribution and storage area.

No one was injured and it is believed weather conditions caused the vehicle to overturn.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “We received information around 8.40am on Thursday, December 31 regarding an overturned lorry.

“The incident happened at a roundabout at the bottom of Icehouse Brae, Laurieston, Falkirk. No one was injured and the vehicle was taken away by a recovery crew.”
