A young girl has made it her mission to meet as many famous faces as possible to coin in cash for a vital charity.
For the past few years Neve Johnston (12), of Falkirk, has been raising money for Hearts and Minds, a group of ‘clown doctors’ who care about treating young patients and entertaining them at the same time, by setting out to have her picture taken with 20 celebrities.
Neve, who was photographed with Sir Tom Jones recently, has personal experience of the fun Hearts and Minds can bring to a ward – the former Bantaskin Primary School pupil was born with osteogenesis imperfecta, or brittle bone disease.
She said: “I have spent a lot of time in hospital over the years and the clown doctors always make things easier for me, so I decided to raise money for them because it will help make many children like myself smile when they are in hospital.”
Neve and her mum Lesley-Anne set up a twitter page for her famous faces crusade and the youngster, who starts Falkirk High School next week, has now met and had snaps taken with 15 stars and counting, including Jessie J, Pixie Lott and, of course, Sir Tom.
She reached her initial target of £500 when she was pictured with MP and former First Minister Alex Salmond, but now plans to raise over £1000 before she is done.
