A badly neglected lhaso apso dog was found dumped near the Kincardine Bridge on Monday.
The female dog was discovered at 3.30pm and taken to Bandeath Dog Shelter and workers alerted the SSPCA due to her poor condition.
Scottish SPCA Inspector Louise Seddon said, “The dog was handed in by a member of the public before being seen by a vet.
“She has a nasty skin infection due to large lice infestation, which the vet stated has been going on for some time. She also has infected skin on her forehead and other parts of her body, as well as extensive hair
The dog is extremely quiet and subdued and has a caesarean scar, meaning she has had pups at some stage.
