Video: One victim taken to hospital after M876 road accident near Larbert

An injured victim required hospital treatment after a vehicle overturned near Larbert yesterday afternoon.

Police have confirmed one person was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital following the accident — which is thought to have involved a Land Rover — between junctions 1 and 2 of the M876 shortly before 3pm.

Reports on social media indicated a group of men had been involved in the incident, with some suffering cuts and bruises and one a broken bone.

However, a Police Scotland spokeswoman told The Falkirk Herald just one casualty had been admitted to hospital.

The M876 was closed northbound between junctions 1 and 2 for several hours as emergency services remained on the scene.

Traffic Scotland later confirmed the section of motorway had been reopened at 8.41pm.
