Motorist (82) dies after car crashes into wall

An 82-year-old man has died after the car he was driving left the road and smashed into a wall.

The incident happened at around 2.30 p.m. on Thursday in Davies Row, Denny, near the junction with Stirling Street.

A Honda Jazz left the road and struck a stone wall before coming to a stop.

The elderly driver was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital for treatment, but he sadly died later that day. No one else was hurt in the incident.

Police Scotland’s inquiries into the full circumstances surrounding the collision are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to come forward.

Sergeant Michael Montague, of the Road Policing Unit, said: “At this time we are still trying to establish why the car left the road and we are keen to hear from any motorists who were on Davies Row at the time of the incident on Thursday afternoon.

“In addition, anyone with any further information relevant to our inquiries is also urged to get in touch.”
