More than 300 classic cars set for Bo'ness Revival spectacular

Scotland's oldest motorsport venue is set to roar into life next weekend as the Bo'ness Revival Hillclimb slips into gear.

The Kinneil Estate extravaganza will feature more than 300 display cars.

The Estate is Scotland’s first motorsport venue and is where world famous Scottish legends like Jim Clark and Sir Jackie Stewart cut their teeth before going on to win international acclaim.

This special weekend is run by a hard working team of volunteers, and the money raised goes straight back into ensuring motorsport continues where it all started - helping preserve the Revival’s nationally important site.

This year’s hillclimb entrants have come from across the world for a weekend of thrilling historic motorsport, with over 100 cars rush to record the fastest time in the Hill Climb.

Now in its 11th year, this year’s action will see early Austin 7’s, Bentley’s and Riley machines speed by, competing in 10 varied classes representing every era of motorsport history.

However although the adrenaline filled climb captures huge attention, Sunday’s classic car show is also a major feature.

More than 30 clubs will exhibit, showing off famous marques from across the motoring world.

It’s a special year for Jaguar. Celebrating 70 years of the XK and 50 years of the XJ6, and the Jaguar Driver’s Club and Jaguar Enthusiast’s Club are expected to stage an impressive tribute.

Sunday also marks the Jaguar Driver’s Club National Weekend, and the Scottish Triumph Weekend, as sponsored by the TR Register, which will be out in force, with an impressive entry listed from TR3’s to TR4’s and TR6’s.

Joining them in the classic car show are members of the Caledonian branch of the MG Car Club, with a collection of the always impressive MGB GT V8 machines, the MG TF and the MG RV8.

Individual entries include models including Austin Healey, Chevrolet Corvette, Ferrari 348, VW Beetle, and Lotus Elise, to name just a few.

Meanwhile Sunday’s heritage arena will be entertaining the crowds whilst delving deeper into the history of some of the rarest and most extraordinary cars to have graced our roads.

The action runs from 9.30am to 5pm each day - and you can book online at www.bonessrevival.co.uk.

Admission is £10 for adults and free for accompanied children aged under 15 years.
