Motorists faced huge tailbacks on the M9 after a cattle trailer tipped over.
A 4x4 towing a trailer with live cattle, lost control and turned over on the westbound carriageway, between junction 4, Lathallan, and junction 5, Beancross.
The incident closed both sides of the motorway from around 11 a.m.
A spokesman from Police Scotland said the incident was dealt with and no cattle were injured in the accident.
The road is now operating as usual.
