Menacing call terrifies woman

In a terrifying phone call to the woman, Deryck Joss (27), 28b Fendoch Road, Grangemouth, also said he loved her.

Joss appeared at Falkirk Sheriff Court last Thursday having previously pled guilty to behaving in a threatening manner at Kilmory Court, Tamfourhill on July 11 last year. He also admitted breaching his bail conditions by contacting his ex partner on August 3 last year.

Defence lawyer Lynsey McLean said: “He doesn’t deal with situations very well and accepts he said some nasty stuff to her, but he tells me they were empty threats made out of anger and he would never ever carry them out.”

Sheriff Linda Smith sentenced Joss to 188 days in prison.
