The initiative, which takes place in Hallglen on Saturday, will see a large number of community officers engaging with members of the public at the village shopping precinct between 7pm and 10.30pm.

As well as the personnel gathered in the shopping centre car park, there will also be a number of officers out on patrol throughout the night to provide a reassuring presence and make offenders think twice about engaging in any criminal activity.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “There have been a lot of reports of anti-social behaviour in Hallglen in recent weeks so we are responding to that by carrying out high visibility patrols in the area and also being present at a street briefing in the shopping precinct to hear any concerns resident may have.”

Officers will be joined by emergency services colleagues from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, councillors for the area and various other partner organisations.

The event, which has been organised by Police Scotland’s Falkirk South Community Team, will also feature an appearance by the community partnership vehicle, which will act as a mobile office on the night, ready to respond to residents complaints and inquiries.

“Any residents who want to come and speak to us about any problems related to anti-social behaviour or other matters, should feel free to drop by during the evening and we will do our best to help them.”
