Best-selling crime fiction author Christopher Brookmyre and his partner Marisa Haetzman will launch this autumn’s Falkirk Storytelling Festival (October 4) - and talk about their new collaborative novel.
Under the nom-de-plume Ambrose Parry (who was a 16th century French medical expert) they have teamed up to produce a dark tale set in the macabre milieu of early Victorian Edinburgh’s Old Town.
Called The Way of all Flesh it centres on aspiring doctor Will Raven, who finds himself enmeshed in a mysterious series of deaths - and confronted with a web of intrigue that seeks to prevent him uncovering the truth.
A week later ex-copper Denzil Meyrick will share details of his DCI Daley series (Thursday, October 11 at 3pm).
And on September 26 Helen Fields (author of the DI Callinch thrillers) will be talking about Perfect Silence - also set in Edinburgh.
Meanwhile next month sees Ann Cleeves, author of the hugely successful Shetland and Vera TV series, appearing at Falkirk Library on September 20 at 1.45pm.
