He is a master at exposing the ills in our society with incredulous humour that leaves you thinking, ‘Really? How do they get away with this stuff?’.

He walked the length of the Israel’s Separation Barrier on the West Bank, around 300 miles, to highlight the human suffering it has caused – “for fun”, which he wrote about in his book Extreme Rambling.

He’s now looking at a different kind of rambling in his new show Trespass when it hits Falkirk Town Hall on Tuesday (March 1), focusing on the “gentrification” of urban areas, asking: “How do we turn the skyscrapers and corporate squares into our playgrounds?”

Speaking from a train on his way to a show Leeds this week, Mark told The Falkirk Herald: “There is a gentrification of cities now, you can see it in Aberdeen and Edinburgh. Aberdeen can’t get nurses because they can’t afford to live in the city.”

Tuesday’s show starts at 8pm. Tickets are £13-£15, booking fee applies. Call (01324) 506850.
