A FIRE which gutted a house in Standburn at the weekend was started deliberately.
Luckily the Mclean family were not at home when the blazed raged though their property, 'Ardvuela', on the village's Main Street.
Central Scotland Police are now searching for a man seen in the area at the time.
Residents alerted firefighters to the blaze at 10.18 p.m. on Saturday night but, by the time they arrived, the property was already well alight.
At its height, there were five fire engines at the scene, an aerial ladder platform, water bowser and command unit under the control of three officers.
The blaze was eventually brought under control just before midnight.
