Man dies in two-car crash in Forth Valley

A man died following a crash in Forth Valley last night.

The 21-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision on the A84 between Buchany and Callander.

Police were made aware of the incident, which involved a silver Ford Fiesta and a grey Peugeot 3008, at around 6.35pm.

A man, who was driving one of the vehicles involved, and a woman passenger were taken to Forth Valley Hospital where they remain in a stable condition.

The road was closed between Buchany and Callander for around seven hours to allow crash investigation work to be carried out.

Inquiries are ongoing and police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Sergeant Ruth Aitchison, of Stirling's Road Policing Unit, said: “Our thoughts and sympathies are with the family and friends of the man who sadly lost his life in this tragic incident.

“I am asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or either vehicle prior to the crash, to contact us if you have not already done so.

“We are also asking locals and drivers to review their CCTV and dashcam footage for anything relevant that could assist with our investigation.”
