A 23-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a two robberies in Denny.

The male, who appeared at Falkirk Sheriff Court on Saturday, was apprehended after investigations into two incidents in the town.

The first happened on October 21 when the Gulf Filling Station on Glasgow Road was robbed while staff were closing up. The second robbery was on January 7 at the Aniel Brothers store on Northfield Road where three men threatened a female shopkeeper before stealing cash.

Detective Inspector Graeme Hendry said: “I am pleased to bring this enquiry to a positive conclusion and would like to thank the many members of the public who provided information, which was invaluable in reaching this outcome.

“Both of these robberies were extremely distressing to the victims and such behaviour is completely unacceptable.

“We are committed to ensuring that perpetrators of such crimes are found swiftly and brought to justice.”
