Man charged with Bonnybridge robbery

A Bonnybridge man has been remanded in custody in connection with an attempted robbery at a local convenience store.

Paul McDevitt (37) was charged with shoplifting and attempted robbery at a shop in Leapark Drive on Monday.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “We received a call on Monday, December 14 in relation to an attempted robbery in Bonnybridge.

“The incident happened around 12.40pm within a business premises in Leapark Drive.

“A 37-year-old man has since been arrested and charged, and appeared at Falkirk Sheriff Court on Tuesday, December 15.”

Mr McDevitt made no plea or declaration when he appeared. The case was committed for further examination and he was remanded in custody.

He is due to appear in court again on Tuesday, December 22.
