There will be no Youth Club tomorrow (Friday) evening due to the school holidays. Sunday services start at 10 a.m, with Communion followed by the Family Service at 11.30 p.m. The guest speaker will Jim McEwan from Falkirk. Children and young teens can leave the service and go into their own groups at noon - Discovery Bible Extra, creche and Youth Bible Group. The evening service is at 6.30 p.m when there will be Bible teaching from David Miller from Uddingston. His topic will be “God’s Glory and Our Glory”, Psalm 8. The parent and toddler group will be on Monday at 9.30 a.m. and the Discovery Group will meet be at 6.30 p.m. The ladies hour begins again on Tuesday, meeting fornightly at 7.30 p.m. in the annexe. The first evening will begin with a craft demonstration by Kerry Walker from Falkirk, followed by an epilogue from Eleanor Scott from Brightons and then a light supper of tea and cakes. Why not come along and bring a friend. Everyone is very welcome. The Prayer Meeting will be held on Wednesday at 7.30 p.m.
Last Sunday the morning service was conducted by our minister, Rev. Louise McClements. During the intimations, a warm welcome was given to Mr Ian Ritchie who was the organist for the service. Anyone interested in receiving a copy of this service please contact Mr Jackie Napier. There will be a short Service of Worship in Haining Nursing Home on Tuesday at 1.45 p.m. On Saturday, November 1, from 10 a.m. in Falkirk Trinity Church, there will be Coffee & Light Lunch served. All monies raised will be in aid of Muiravonside Parish Church. There will also be home baking, tombola and a sales table, so why not come along that Saturday and enjoy this function and give the organisers your support.
Anyone with an interest in taking photographs, or photography generally, is invited to attend the above club when it meets every Wednesday in The Braes Children and Family Centre in Forgie Crescent from 7 - 8.30 p.m. The group, which has changed name to Braes Camera Club, has operated for some time at the site and the organisers would be happy to welcome new members.
Maddiston Community Centre events over the next week include: Thursday, Giggles Toddlers Group, 1-3 p.m.; Ju Jitsu, 7-8.30 p.m. Friday, Community Café, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. (come along have a cuppa and something to eat meet other members of the community); Credit Union, 10 a.m.-noon. Monday, Citizens Advice Bureau (appointment to be made and can be held at centre). Tuesday, Giggles (toddlers group), 9.30-11.30 a.m.; The Family History Group meet every second and fourth Tuesday of the month, 10 a.m.-noon; Ju-Jitsu, 7–8.30 p.m. Wednesday, Fast Track IT class, 9.30 a.m.-noon (call 501696 for information). We also have an IT suite for public use for internet access, e-mail access, filling in online forms, job searches homework and printing/copying. Maddiston Community Council, along with staff from Muiravonside Park, held another badger watch last Friday evening when 14 people waited to have a sighting of the creatures. Despite only a fleeting glance of the animals an enjoyable evening was experienced by all. Thanks are due to our park management team for arranging the event.

The weekly programme is: Tuesday, Lunch Club, 12.30 p.m. (a two course meal plus tea/coffee and biscuits for £3 – everyone welcome); Ladies Meeting, 2 p.m.; Kids Club (5 to 12-years-old), 5.30 p.m. Thursday, Parent and Toddlers, 9.30 a.m.; Prayer and Bible Study, 6 p.m. Friday, Parent and Toddlers, 9.30 p.m. and monthly on a Saturday evening there is a special event as advertised.
