Golf Club

John Brown would be happy to hear from anyone interested in golfing lessons at the club and can be reached on 07708 324 900 or (01324) 711277. Meanwhile, a domino competition goes ahead at the Manuelrigg premises every Sunday afternoon when the winner can pick up a coo pie.

History Group

Maddiston & Rumford Local History Group’s next meeting will be at Muiravonside Country Park and we’ll be looking at the history of the Muiravonside estate with Simon, the park ranger, with a view to helping Simon what to put on new information boards throughout the park. The meeting will begin at 1.30 p.m. as usual. All members meet in the car park.

Muiravonside Church

Last Sunday morning service in Muiravonside Parish Church was conducted by the Minister Rev. Louise McClements. During the intimations a warm welcome was given to Mrs Jacqueline Dignan, our organist for the service. This Sunday, morning service in Muiravonside Parish Church will commence at the usual time of 11.30 a.m. and will again be conducted by the Minister. The Sunday Club meets during the service. The Falkirk Foodbank and the Falkirk Homeless Project is still ongoing and there is a box in the vestibule to collect any donations for these causes. The next Haining Nursing Home Service takes place on Tuesday, June 9 at 1.45 p.m. The Muiravonside Choral Society concert was a great success in church last Wednesday. Thoroughly enjoyed by all in attendance. The sum of £407 was raised for church funds so thanks you very much. Note: We celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion on Sunday, June 14 here in church at 11.30 a.m.

Girlguiding Day

Girlguiding Avon Division is holding an open information afternoon to show the opportunities and fun we can give to girls and adults and to find out if we’d be able to open new units in the district. If your daughter is on a waiting list or if Girlguiding is something you think your daughter would be interested in then please come along, have a chat, a cup of tea and a look at what we do. Or if you would like to become involved as an adult leader or helper we’d love to see you! All age groups will be represented. The event is this Sunday in Maddiston Community Centre from 2-4 p.m.

Evangelical Church

Sunday services start at 10 a.m. with Communion followed at 11 a.m. by a time of fellowship with refreshments. The family service is at 11.30 a.m. when the speaker will be George Martin from Bishopbriggs. The Praise Band will also be taking part. Children and young teens can get out of the sevice and into their own groups at noon. Go 4 it, creche and youth Bible Group. The evening service is at 6.30 p.m. with Bible teaching by Ian Naismith from Edinburgh. His theme is entitled ‘The God who Rewards his Servants’. 2 Kings 2, 1-12. The Parent and Toddler group will meet on Monday at 9.30 a.m. The prayer meeting will be on Wednesday at 7.30 p.m
