Maddiston Primary School Parents Staff Association is holding a quiz night in Polmont Golf Club to raise money for the primary school children tomorrow (Friday). The quiz night will commence at 7.30 p.m. for an 8 p.m. start and there will be a disco afterwards. Please bring your own nibbles. Maximum numbers for teams are six and the cost will be £5 a head. There will be prizes for the quiz winners and we will have a cash quiz on the night. Please come along and support the school and have a fun night out. A domino competition goes ahead at the Manuelrigg premises every Sunday afternoon when the winner can pick up a coo pie.
Events and activities on at Maddiston Community Centre for today and the next week include; Today (Thursday) Giggles Toddlers meet 12.30–2.30 p.m.; the Kempo Ju-Jitsu club is on 7–9 p.m.; On Friday the Credit Union will be open 10 a.m.–noon; the Community Café is open 8.45 a.m.–1 p.m. On Monday the Personal Development Group will meet from 9.30–11.30 a.m. (call 01324 720960 for information); the Over-50s Lunch and Entertainment is being held 11.30 a.m.–3.30 p.m.; On Tuesday the Giggles Group will meet 9.30–11.30 a.m.; Kempo Ju-Jitsu meet 7-9 p.m; On Wednesday the child-minding group meets 9.30–11.30 a.m. and a Fast Track IT class is held from 9.30–11.30 a.m. (call 501696 for information). The Youth Clubs for P1-P4 is at 6-7.15 p.m. and for P5-P7 at 7.30-8.45 p.m. We also have an IT suite for public use for internet access, e-mail access, filling in online forms, job searches, homework and printing/copying. Last Sunday, Mr Napier introduced and welcomed Rev. Philip Hacking to the congregation who then went on to conduct morning service in Muiravonside Parish Church. During the Intimations, a warm welcome was given to Mrs Jacqueline Dignan, our organist for the service. A presentation of a basket of flowers was made to Mr and Mrs Peter Duncan on the occasion of their anniversary of 65 years of married life. A warm round of applause was given to them by the congregation. This Sunday, the service in Muiravonside Parish Church will commence at the usual time of 11.30 a.m. and will be conducted by the Minister Rev. Louise McClements. The Sunday Club meets at the same time. The ASM will take place here in church after Morning Service this Sunday. Boxes are still available in church for your donations towards both the Falkirk Foodbank and the Falkirk Homeless Project. If anyone is interested in receiving a copy of the Sunday Service for someone who is unable to attend church, then see Jackie Napier after the service.
Brass Band Concert
The Youth Club meet on Friday from 7.30-9 p.m. in the Maddiston Community Centre. All S1-6 youth welcome. The Sunday services start at 10 a.m. with Communion. The family service starts at 11.30 a.m. when the speaker will be Michael Guile from Linlithgow. Children and young teens can go into their own groups at noon - Discovery Club Extra, Creche and Youth Bible Group. The evening serivce will be at 6.30 p.m. when there will be Bible Teaching from George Martin from Bishopbriggs. He will speak on Psalm 46 “Serenity in Times of Trouble”. The parent and toddler group meets at 9.30 a.m. on Monday, The Discovery Group meets at 6.30 p.m. On Tuesday, at 2.15 p.m. the Men’s Fellowship will meet. The speaker will be Robert Whyte from Dundee. This will be the fellowship lunch and will be the last meeting of the session. The Prayer meeting is on Wedneday at 7.30 p.m.
