Community Council

Maddiston Community Council held a consultation exercise on Saturday in the community centre answering queries about the possible siting of the community growing area and any other issues residents wished to raise. The opinion was that it was a useful event where issues could be aired. An application for additional housing beside Vellore Road has been objected to by the community council given the absence of any investment in the village for services to the community, and in this particular instance the development is outside the recently drafted local plan. Preparations for the service of consecration of the new war memorial on Saturday, June 21 at 11 a.m. are well advanced. June’s community council meeting will be held this evening (Thursday) in the community centre at 7 p.m. - all are welcome. Tonight we will have Jessica Paterson from Falkirk Council attending who is supporting our upgrade on the villages open spaces.
