Credit Union

Savings are safe with Falkirk District Credit Union and low cost loans are available once regular savings established. Anyone who lives or works in the area within the boundary of Falkirk Council can join, junior savers welcome. Evangelical Church

The family service on Sunday at 11.30 a.m. will be taken by Thomas Kisutu from Edinburgh. Children can go into their own groups at noon. There will be no evening service during July. The prayer meeting will be on Wednesday at 7.30 p.m.

Parish Church

Last Sunday’s service was conducted by Rev. Louise McClements, assisted by Mrs Amanda MacQuarrie. This Sunday the Annual Joint Service will take place at 10 a.m. when we will be joined by our friends from Muiravonside Parish Church. Sunday morning services are recorded and a CD is available for anyone who is housebound or unable to attend church. Salvation Army

A warm welcome awaits you at Maddiston Salvation Army. Morning Worship is every Sunday at 10.30 a.m. in the Salvation Army Centre, Main Street, Maddiston. The weekly programme is as follows: Tuesday - Lunch Club, 12.30 p.m.; Ladies’ Meeting, 2 p.m.; Kids Club (5 - 12 year olds), 5.30 p.m. Thursday - Parent & Toddlers, 9.30 a.m.; Bible Study, 6 p.m. Friday - Parent & Toddlers, 9.30 a.m. All welcome. For further information contact (01324) 711973. The organisation is looking to develop our programme and is always looking for volunteers.

Muiravonside Church

Last Sunday, morning service was conducted by Rev. Louise McClements and Mrs Amanda McQuarrie. During the Intimations a warm welcome was given to Mrs Jacqueline Dignan who was our organist for the service. Sunday morning service will be held in Shieldhill Church. This is our Annual Joint Service and will commence at 10 a.m. Please note the earlier time. There will be no service held in Muiravonside. The Banner Group meets at 2 p.m. each Friday in Shieldhill and Blackbraes Church hall.

Community Council

Maddiston Community Council’s monthly meeting will be held this evening (Thursday) at 7 p.m. in the community centre - all are welcome. Reports on progress of the development trust, the fire service building and objections to the recently resubmitted planning application for a 77-metre high wind turbine are on the agenda.

Camera Club

Anyone with an interest in taking photographs, or photography generally, is invited to attend the above club when it meets every Wednesday in The Braes Children and Family Centre in Forgie Crescent from 7 - 8.30 p.m. The group, which has changed name to Braes Camera Club, has operated for some time at the site and the organisers would be happy to welcome new members.
