A very warm welcome awaits you at Maddiston Salvation Army; anyone is welcome to attend any of our activities. Sunday Worship is at 10.30am in the Salvation Army Centre, Main Street, Maddiston, FK2 0LU. For further information contact (01324) 711793. We are always looking to develop our programme and are looking for volunteers. Some of our Activities are off for the Summer break. Next week, beginning Monday, August 10 we have: Tuesdays: 11am Prayer Meeting, 12.30pm – Lunch Club, two course meal plus tea/coffee and biscuits (£3), 2pm - Home League (Ladies Meeting); Thursdays: Parent and Toddlers: 9.30am; Fridays: 9.30am - Parent and Toddlers. Sunday Services continue as normal each Sunday at 10.30am, you will be made very welcome. This Sunday our Service will be led by our Minister, Envoy David Robertson. The regular monthly meeting of Maddiston community council will take place in Community centre on this evening (Thursday) at 7pm. Polmont Hillwalking Club will be climbing up to four munros near Kinlochleven on Sunday, August 9. The munros will be Na Gruagaichean, Binnein Mor, Binnein Beag, Sgurr Eilde Mor. Maddiston and Rumford Local History Group will hold their first meeting of the new season on Monday, August 10 in Maddiston Community Centre (Parkhall Drive) at 1 – 3pm. Anyone with an interest in the area will be welcome, if you like a blether about times past and a cup of tea then come along and join us.
Last Sunday, Morning Service in Muiravonside Parish Church was conducted by the Minister the Rev. Louise McClements. During the Intimations a warm welcome was given to Mrs Jacqueline Dignan, our Organist for the Service. During the Service the Sacrament of Baptism took place, when Lexi, infant daughter of Mark and Kirsty Sneddon and little sister to Miley was welcomed into the Church family. This was a happy occasion and the congregation was swelled by the attendance of the friends and family of Mark and Kirsty. This Sunday, Morning Service in Muiravonside Parish Church will commence at the usual time of 11.30am and will be conducted by the Minister the Rev. Louise McClements. There will be a Memorial Service for the late Sandra McCallion, who was the Activities Co-ordinator at Haining Nursing Home, on Tuesday, August 11 at 2pm. This is for residents and staff who were unable to attend her funeral. Representatives from both our Churches will be taking part in the Service. The Falkirk Food Bank and the Falkirk Homeless project is still ongoing and there is a box in the vestibule to collect any donations for these causes. If anyone is interested in receiving a copy of the Morning Service, please see Jackie Napier after the Service. The Banner Group restarts this Friday 7th August at 3pm in Shieldhill Church Hall.

The Sunday services start at 10am with communion followed at 11am with fellowship and refreshments. The summer family service is at 11.30am, this month we will continue our summer services at the same time with two ten minute talks on a given topic as well as a children’s spot at the beginning of the service. Children of primary school age and younger will go through to the annex for their own programme at 11.50am. The creche will also be running for under threes. The guest speaker at the family service this Sunday will be David Campbell from Maddiston. His topic is entitled Peter’s Salvation letter. The church prayer meeting is on Wednesday at 7.30pm.
