M9 southbound to close for works

The southbound carriageway of the M9 will close this month for surface improvements.

The works, costing £15,000, will take place at Pepperhill between Linlithgow and Polmont at junctions 3 and 4 overnight from 8pm-6am on Wednesday, May 25.

A signed diversion route will be in operation. Southbound traffic will come off at Junction 4 Lathallan and follow the A904 to re-join the M9 at Junction 3 Burghmuir.

This scheme has been planned in consultation with Police Scotland, local bus operators and West Lothian Council.

A spokesperson for Amey said: “The scheme will benefit around 15,000 vehicles that use this section of the M9 each day by ensuring road users experience greater journey time reliability, continued safety and comfort.”
