Traffic will be diverted via the B9080 to Winchburgh, the B8020 to Broxburn and the A899 to A89 to Newbridge.

Lochend Road will be restricted to one-way travel Southbound (except for cyclists) between Hallyards Road Junction and the access to the sewage works. A weight restriction on vehicles of 7.5 tonnes or over will be applied for the whole length of Lochend Road, in both directions, other than for local access.

The main shuttle bus service will run every 30 minutes between Winchburgh, Kirkliston Cross and Ferrymuir Retail Park to connect with the normal bus services and will replace the LRT, First Bus and Stagecoach services which normally operate on this route through Kirkliston.

As a result, roads contractor Amey is warning there may be a short wait for connections and is advising commuters to plan journeys accordingly.

The existing First Bus services 21B, 22A and 38 will also provide free travel between Kirkliston, Winchburgh and Ferrymuir Retail Park to connect with the normal bus services.

A free shuttle minibus service will be in operation from 6am every 15 minutes until 11.20pm following a circular route through Kirkliston from Gateside and Kirklands Park.

The designated Pick Up and Set Down spots will be the existing bus stops within Kirkliston.

Amey say the diversion route will add approximately 30 minutes to journey times.
