The incident happened last night at around 9.30pm on the A803 Glasgow Road in Camelon near the roundabout at the Falkirk Wheel when an articulated vehicle’s roof hit the underside of one bridges that pass over the road.

The lorry was travelling west towards Denny and a similar incident happened in February on the other one as an HGV was heading east into the Camelon area.

Police attended the incident and reported no injuries. The vehicle was eventually recovered shortly after midnight.

A spokesman for Network Rail said: “It was not a major incident in terms of damage caused, which was more superficial.

“However, specialist operations staff were on site and the bridge re-opened within an hour so there wasn’t much impact on services and we can divert services on other lines along this route.”
