There was double delight for local dog breeders at Crufts at the NEC in Birmingham last weekend.
Graham Leask added another title to his impressive collection as his Rottweiler, 20-month-old Missy (show name Dortmund Glamour Girl at Granjolea J.W.Sh Cm), took first prize in the breed’s Post-Graduate Bitch class.
And Marilyn Smith’s Bichon Frise, Rennie Mac, scooped second place in the breed’s Puppy – Dog category on his first visit to Crufts.
Another of Graham’s Rottweilers, Dutchess (Granjolea Andora), also showed at the event but unfortunately didn’t win anything this year.
Graham, from Stenhousemuir, said: “I showed Missy while Jodi Beveridge from Pets At Home Falkirk was showing Duchess.
“Duchess looked and showed very well but didn’t get anything in her strong yearling class. But we’re delighted Missy managed to win.”
Marilyn, from Grangemouth, was thrilled as debut boy Rennie Mac (Litinaz Precious Cristal) placed second.
She said: “Claire Mills was showing Rennie Mac and we are so happy they managed to get second place in Rennie Mac’s first year at the event.”
