RSCDS Classes

Local RSCDS Beginners Class will meet in Laurieston Primary School from 6.45 to 7.45 p.m. on a Tuesday night (no partner required and accompanied children are welcome). Medium’s Visit

Laurieston Spiritualist Church will have Martin Gilbert from Grangemouth as guest mediums for its service in the Old Folks Welfare Hall in Mary Street on Monday, March 9. Doors open 6.45 p.m., service starts 7.30 p.m. Everyone welcome.

Laurieston Scouts

Congratulations to Laurieston Scouts on winning the Falkirk District Scout Five-a-Side Football competition on Sunday evening. The team of Archie M, Rory M, Euan W, Greg J and Aron T went through the competition unbeaten.

Scouts & Guides

Laurieston Scouts & Guides: At the recent Founders Day/Thinking Day Service held in the Scout Hall the retirement collection of £32 has been donated to the Friday Stroke Club in the village. Many thanks to all who attended the event.

Blue night with Bobby Parks and Falkirk Crown Defenders Flute Band in Laurieston Community Centre on Saturday, March 7 from 7.30 p.m. till midnight. Admission £5.

Parish Church

During Morning Worship last Sunday the minister Dr Henderson continued her inspiring study of the Lord’s Prayer, concentrating on ‘Thy Will be done’. Immediately after the service the stated annual meeting of the congregation was held. Congregational Board meet on Thursday evening, March 5 at 7 p.m. The Kirk Session will meet thereafter. The World Day of Prayer service will be held in Blackbraes & Shieldhill Church on Friday, March 6 at 7 p.m. On door duty next Sunday, March 8 are Mrs I. Strathie, Mrs J. Sherrat, Mrs J. Letham and Mrs E. Gillies. The flowers for March 8 are being donated by Margaret McGregor. On Tea duty are Mr and Mrs Ferguson, Mr B. Daye and Mrs J. Currie. The Guild meet on Tuesday, March 10 at 7 p.m. for the annual general meeting. Concert with Falkirk Caledonia Choir in St Mungo’s Church, Alloa on Wednesday, March 11 is at 7.30 p.m.; tickets £5. A messy Church is being planned for Saturday, March 28 in one of the units in the Howgate Shopping Centre.

Gospel Hall

The preacher at the 3 p.m. Sunday Gospel Meeting in the Cotton Lane Gospel hall, will be Mr David Henderson from Kennoway. Tea and biscuits will be served afterwards. Everyone is welcome.
