Send us your Laurieston news and pictures by noon on Tuesday.
Scouts and Guides from Laurieston recently joined together in the local primary school to celebrate Founders Day/Thinking Day. This day celebrates and gives thanks for the founding of both movements. The theme of the event was based around ‘although we are different on the outside, inside as Scouts and Guides we are all alike’. There was also time given over to thinking about what we do to help others. The day ended with the Scouts and Guides renewing their promise. A collection was taken (£50) and this will be donated to the Old Folks Group in Laurieston.
Laurieston Scouts have recently had a very sporty theme to their programme. The Scouts all took part in a night’s swimming at Denny High School when all Scouts present were successful in gaining the appropriate stage for their ability. Scouts also took part in the Falkirk District Scout 5-a-side football competition on Sunday and in a hard fought competition were runners-up. Well done to the team for their efforts and thanks to the Parents who came along to give them support.
