During Sunday morning worship the theme was “Signposts”. The children were presented with gifts, with reminiscence of “prize-giving” ceremonies in days gone by. This was followed by the poignant hymn “One more step”. Will the ladies going to the Guild Rally today (Thursday) please note the bus departs from Laurieston Square at 6.30 p.m. prompt. On door duty this Sunday are Mrs M. Andrew, Mrs J. White, Mrs C. Park and Mrs S. Marshall. The flowers have been donated by Douglas and Sheila Marshall. On tea duty are Mrs H. Pullar, Mrs M. Hoggan, Mrs M. Erskine and Miss M. Brown.
Many thanks to all who came to our clothes show last Friday. It was great to have such a good turnout. We raised the sum of £185 for our funds. Thank-you all once again and to Gloria’s Fashions for bringing along such a varied selection of items for sale. Tickets for our annual outing which this year is to Ayr on Tuesday, June 23 are now on sale during the coffee mornings. The price this year is £10 which includes a picnic lunch.
The preacher at the 3 p.m. Sunday gospel meeting in the Cotton Lane Gospel Hall is Mr Graham Maize from Whitburn. Tea and biscuits will be served after the meeting, Everyone is warmly welcome.
The Reel Jig Club started last Monday and continue until August 24 in Laurieston Church Hall. Tutor Elspeth Walker.
Laurieston Spiritualist Church will have April Mackie from Bathgate as guest medium for its service in the Old Folks Welfare Hall in Mary Street on Monday. Doors open 6.45 p.m., service starts 7.30 p.m. Everyone welcome.
